Couple of things. First the sales teams is great. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately once you buy your furniture you can't speak to them anymore. The store's policy it to prohibit this and make you work with customer service only.
We purchased a sofa from La-Z-Boy and also a Guardian warranty on it. Well, the sofa leather looks like crap after a few years later, but we waited until the warranty was going to expire to contact them. As always, the devil's in the details. There were so many requirements in the warranty that it is, in effect, useless and Guardian refused to do anything about it. That, combined with the poor quality of the leather, La-Z-Boy has lost a customer for life. I will NEVER purchase anything from them again, especially since I now consider them to be a dishonest company.
We will not buy anything more from La-Z-Boy. At any store. Hope they call us back someday.
I also called the national brand and they told me there was nothing they could do. This is all up to the individual stores - the one who won't return our calls.
Bought ten thousand dollars worth of furniture 2 years ago. Pieces start falling off my chair making it set wrong. I called about the warranty and I was told it only covers parts. $50.00 to pick up and $50.00 to bring back and $100.00 dollars an hour to repair broken pieces of plastic. Never again. Should have something made in China.
We bought a sectional and ordered it with a stock fabric. This is called a "custom" order. So when it was delivered it had a spot on the fabric and several of the covers did not fit tightly. I called customer service. They told me it was fortunate that I bought the furniture maintenance plan because that way they can fix it. Like they couldn't fix poor quality furniture if I didn't pay the extra $500! Anyway, they told us they would be back in touch. That's only six weeks ago. And nothing.
I bought a close out item at the store paid for it and was told I could pick it up at the warehouse 5 days from then or pay them an additional $75 dollars to bring it back to me. The warehouse is an hour drive in the wrong direction from my house. My options were make them refund the money but my 80 year old mother needed the chair or drive two hours (1 hour each way) to pick the chair up or pay the extortion money to have them deliver it. When I called the customer service line the rude manager said well you shouldn't have bought the chair then. The company is rude, inconsiderate of customer needs, and treat the customer as an inconvenience. Go to Gallery Furniture and get same day delivery and friendly service.
Rude employees trying to push sales and giving incorrect information. Safe yourself the trouble and go somewhere where they don't just try anything to get the sale.
