This is the Houston area''s real deal solid wood furniture store without the monkey business and high pressure sales tactic. Furniture is of amazing quality and finish. Lots to choose from in both store locations, or endless possibilities via custom order. We have purchased from both locations and have bought off the showroom floor and custom ordered as well. Purchased a table from E&G. We had a custom built Amish table previously from when we first got married which seated four that we loved, but we bought that table when it was just my wife and I, so it only seated 4 people and did not have slots for expansion (we are now a family of 6). My wife fell in love with a Maple table on the showroom floor at EG that was gorgeous, but unfortunately we were accustomed to our Oak table that allowed our four children to constantly abuse our table and it never showed damage whatsoever (soft maple - while prettier - has a much smoother grain structure and is also a lot softer). I called the location manager to discuss after my children had managed to scuff up the table a bit and despite the fact that I was well aware of the fact that there was a no returns policy on the table (which I had purchased at a sale price on the showroom floor) he worked with me to upgrade to a hard maple table instead of the soft maple table that I had purchased.
A couple lessons learned on my end - 1 - Maple is gorgeous, but there are two types of Maple - hard and soft. Hard is more expensive, but more durable. 2 - buy furniture from people who stand behind their products. I could have easily ended up with something I was not happy with, and out of luck and frustrated at another shop. I'm sure I'll be buying more wood furniture in the future and when I do I'll be returning to EG
E&G Amish Furniture store is the place to go. The staff members are organizined, knowledgeable, and friendly. My family and I have gotten multiple pieces of furniture from E&G and they are perfect. I would continue coming here not only for the beautiful hang crafted furniture, but for also the excellence of the staff!!
Just a bit on the store - They have catalogs full of amish vendors that they have contacts with, very friendly staff. They have samples of products all around the store to determine what you do/don't like, but ultimately you should probably be buying a custom built table/furniture from a catalog that is exactly what you want. Figure out what kind of wood you like, figure out the stain you like, figure out the style you like then get your furniture custom built by craftsmen from real American hard wood and not particle board from china.
James and Chris went out of their way to get us our entertainment center early!! We bought a beautiful dining room table and the entertainment center plus some small items. WONDERFUL customer service, friendly & courteous. Highly recommend E & G Amish in Sugar Land! I'm sure we'll be return customers!!
My wife and I bought a dining room table for our new house. The service we received, along with the quality of the table, were second to none. We were not ready to receive the table for a few weeks, and they held it until we closed on the house and were able to put the table in the dining room. It is difficult to get this level of service in today's market, so we are very happy we went to E & G. We will come back in the near future for our furniture needs. I highly recommend!
