The following did not occur to me this time, but has occurred to me the last time for a similar procedure. It is worth talking about:

I was a tad disappointed my surgeon didn't have rights in katy so I had to drive down here but I got over it quick! Everyone is so caring and thoughtful. From the admitting desk, to the man drawing blood, to the entire surgical team. Shout out to Caitlin, Laura, Chastity and Mary! They were all so sweet, attended to every need, and made me feel very well cared for. Thank you all. Highly recommended.

I’m no one to judge but when I saw the doctor walk in the room wearing slippers, I hope and pray to get my my sutchures in right and didn’t do a sloppy job! On the 10th day I went to a different doctor for sutchure removal I was told the stitches were internal stitches. It’s horrifying and painful when they did the removal. They had to separate the desolvable stitches from the internal stitches to remove it correctly! Memorial Hermann doctors did their job but wished they would of done it correctly!

--------------------------------------------------

Just want to start off by saying this place is very professional, they handled me with great care and if I were to refer anyone it would definitely be to go to this place. When your getting your MRI Miguel puts on a wonderful selection of music, in fact its so calm I almost fell asleep. They have an Open MRI, which most places do not have and they even accommodated my size. As far as a rate for this place I would definitely give them a 10 out of 10. My experience was by far amazing

Follow up: 'A Peters Inc.' supplier of durable medical equip. and medical supplies surprise billed my insurance company (and thus my co-insurance liability). It is for the pneumatic leg compression bags; price is $2000 ($1000 per leg). The ramification is that typical of the medical industry I was NOT notified by Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital; I could be subject to the entire bill if my BCBS insurance provider refused to pay. I found out there is an unscrupulous game played where the medical services equipment biller will appeal the first denial of payment. Then if denied again the medical equipment provider will 'zero out the billing charge' and take the financial loss.

This same practice is performed by unscrupulous surgery assistants that refuse to contract with insurance companies or the surgical facility. These surgery assistant people are for the most part NOT identified in the surgery order and so YOU the patient are LIABLE if the surgery assistant chooses not to zero their billing upon failure to collect from the patient's insurance. Beware of these people prior to your surgery.

So I give Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital a strong 4 Stars.

Great Staff and Service. Unfortunately cost of an MRI here with my insurance (in network) was about 4x that of other places in Sugar Land. Lesson Learned, shop around for other MRI facilities after a Doctor referral.

The facility and staff are very efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. My research shows the contracted USAP (anesthesiologists) are in network which is mandatory by me. The nurses are contracted with the facility for turnkey facility services and I will not receive a seperate bill. I established that my surgery did not require out of network contractors and at this early point I don't think there were any uninvited contractors in the surgery room ready to bill me. I will follow up on this point if needed.

This example is one of the many underlying cost overrun reasons that plague the medical industry and drive sky high medical costs and our insurance premiums in America.
